Welcome to Biev!
My name is Arda, and I've been selling vintage Turkish rugs over the internet for the past few years. I enjoy selling vintage carpets because each of them holds history. The craft of the rug artisans has been a go-to profession in the Anatolian area, especially in Oushak, Turkey ever since the start of the Ottoman empire. Today, these beautiful bohemian, oriental rugs decorate our living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, and kitchens.
If you were looking for a specific rug, but couldn't find it in my store; please let me know!
Thanks for visiting my store :)
Best regards,
Arda

5 out of 5 starsAnother 5 star review from me (this is my 2nd purchase from Beiv Rugs) and wow the shipping is fast. From Turkey to Canada in 4 days! The rug is absolutely perfect and was a great price for a Zeki Muren rug. Highly recommend this shop.

5 out of 5 starsThe rug is absolutely beautiful and adds some life and colour to my slightly boring kitchen. The shipping was so fast that I when I got the notification it had arrived I thought that it was a glitch lol. Very impressed and have already ordered a second rug.

5 out of 5 starsLove love love my rug. It’s exactly as pictured. It came well-protected and folded. It unfolded beautifully and lays flat. It’s clean. No weird smells. True to color. Highly recommend. Only problem is that the rug was held at UPS and took a month to deliver. So worth it though.

5 out of 5 starsWell, there is a reason that Biev has five star ratings across-the-board. I ordered this on a Thursday morning. On Monday morning, here it is in California: beautifully packaged for shipping, the rug is just as it appears and is described online. I own a lot of rugs: this will be my go-to source from now on.

5 out of 5 starsI love my large runner! The colors and description were accurate about this rug. The colors are actually better in person than in the photo! It makes such a statement in my kitchen and is very comfortable underfoot. It cleans up very nicely and the kids like to play on it when we are cooking or hanging out in the kitchen. If I need a rug in the future I will shop here again.

Gift wrapping and packaging
I do offer a gift wrapping service for free! Just please let me know as soon as you place your order so that I can process and pack it correctly :)
Can I be sure that the color of the rug in photos will be the same in person?
I do my best to make sure rug colors are represented as accurately as possible.
There may be slight variations in what you see on your computer depending on the screen’s color, contrast, and brightness. Within the product descriptions, I will also note any inherent color variations.
If the color of your new rug is not what you were expecting, I am happy to work with you to get you the color you had envisioned :)
Are your rugs professionally cleaned? Are they ready to use?
All the rugs I sell go through an extensive cleaning process to ensure that the quality is what you expect from a genuine vintage carpet. They are ready to use as soon as you receive them!
My rug has an imperfection. Why?
As vintage pieces, my rugs have natural wear and tear, but I think these imperfections only add to the beauty and timelessness of the rug. You may notice slight discolorations on the underside of the rug, but I ensure that the front-facing design of the rug meets all my standards for quality and does not detract from the overall aesthetic.
Why does my rug have white dots?
Some vintage rugs have visible tie-offs that look like white dots. They are part of the handmade process and occur where weavers tie off strings from the warp that can break during hand-weaving. They do not compromise the integrity of the rug in any way, and can be more pronounced with low-pile shaven rugs.
Antique vs. Vintage?
According to most experts, "vintage" refers to an item 20 to 100 years old. If it is more than 100 years old, it's considered "antique".
How should I clean my rug?
I recommend that you regularly your vintage rug to remove dirt and dust. Depending on how heavily your rug is used, vacuuming just once or twice a month is adequate. Too much vacuuming can wear down the knots and fibers more quickly. Every few months, you’ll also want to flip your rug over and vacuum the back to get the dust out of the foundation of the rug. It also helps to rotate your rug by 180 degrees once a year to ensure even wear over time.
Why should I buy a vintage rug?
For so many reasons! Rug purists love that vintage rugs honor a rich tradition of artisan tapestry makers who meticulously weave and knot a rug by hand. Some purchase vintage because they favor the authenticity and elegance of a gently faded, worn-in look that distinguishes it from “vintage-like” new rugs that have been artificially faded. It’s also viewed as a way to reduce our carbon footprint by reclaiming a rug that is still in perfectly usable condition.
Regardless of the reason, the age and history of a vintage rug make a beautiful statement piece. The traditional handwoven, naturally-dyed process is labor intensive, but produces a rug that in the end is durable and ages gracefully.
